I have L1 A: How long it takes to get Green card?

1. i have an L1 A, if my employer applies for Green card, how long will it take for me to get it?

2. i heard recently that if we have L1 A, we can get green card as soon as in 3 months time !! is this true? if yes why? if not how long it really takes.

3. once applied for if i change my job.will the whole process of green card has to be repeated?

Answer:
Your employer can apply for the green card status for you once you're actually in the country. The process itself can take quite a while - I've seen it last as long as 6 years between initial application and issuance. On the other hand, it's taken as little as 1 year.

Your L1 classification is directly tied to the company you are employed with. If you change positions (even within the company) the status of your L1 visa may be revoked. Even if it is not, the chances of a 'hold' on your green card process is quite high ... potentially leading to having to start all over again.
