For one I am in the country legal. I learned the language of this country. I have to pay for my health care. I am also not eligible for welfare no matter how little money I make and how little my children eat. It ain't about color. It's about what is fair. Life is not handed to anyone well except in this case.
I grew up in a town in western Kansas where the majority of people were Hispanics. All my friends were Mexicans and they always made me feel welcome in their homes. Even their mothers, some of whom didn't speak English, would demand I stay for dinner. EXCELLENT food.

hmmm, many colors yes, many ethnicities yes, many cultures, and beliefs, yes! But We all adapt and speak english in America. I would never ever take my child to a new country, and not be able to get that child help in an emergency because I couldnt communicate in their language.

What I do not understand is, you have the absolute right to be proud of your heritage and culture but, why are you all coming here to the USA? because your country is a stinking rat hole! your government is corrupt and only about eleven families in your county control all the power and money yet, you sneak under our fences, come here illegally and have some rational that the United States owes you people a living! We're supppose to feed you and your family, educated your children, provide free medical care even though many of our elderly and citizens have no medical coverage yet, we're suppose to give to you illegal, fence jumpers and deny our own citizens. I was born and raised in the United States. I am a moderate and a U.S. citizen. I am also a member of a sovreign nation. We were the first people. We have our own constitution, our own laws, beliefs, and culture, yet many here do not know us. You claim you are of one nation? What nation is that? Aztlan? Wake up, Aztlan is a myth. Your kind killed just as many of my people as the whites and blacks in the U.S. The Mexican government hunted Navajo and Sioux like it was the in thing to do. You want to talk about discrimination and being hated, give me a break. Suck it up and be a man. Stand on your own two feet and quit believing in myths and fairy tales. I am reservation born and bred and one day I will retire and go back to the reservation. You claim you come here looking for jobs. We were born here and we have to leave our homes and familys to find decent paying jobs as well. You want us to respect your beliefs and culture, well we will, when you start respecting ours. I speak four languages. I speak English, Spanish, French, and Tsalagi. How many of the people in your one nation can say they speak more than Spanish? Not many apparently, as there is a push for all to learn Spanish. Don't talk to me about la raza or Aztlan or being One Nation. Talk to me instead about being willing to sacrifice a few things and do things through proper and legal channels to make it here in the States the same as us Natives. Our sacrifice, you live on our sacrifice, you walk on our blood, on the bones of our dead, and the spirits of our ancestors. This is who we are. We know ourselves quite well, do you?
What does that mean? A country needs a solid core to survive, a central theme to revolve around or it will become balcanized. Language is a main theme. A country cannot survive succesfully when isn't cohesive. Language makes a country cohesive.
Mexico is a place everyone is trying to get away from. They are turning the U. S. into Mexico, exactly what they are trying to escape from just by coming here and not assimilating.

Most Latino U.S native born Citizens are Chicanos or Mexican-Americans, and proud of it.
Every race has their own wide range of that you listed. But it's the fact that all the mexicans come and live here, refuse to become a citizen, live off our money and government help, and yet they still expect you to speak Spanish. they just take everything from this country for their sellfish a**es and expect to live like this is their home. But if you go to mexico you HAVE to know Spanish cuz that's what they speak there. But here we have to know their language and now it's effecting the qualifications for a job. We have become a nation of many races, ethnicities, and cultures that are accepted because the citizens who migrated here or were brought here eventually fought and got accepted. They didn't just lie around and take what they wanted they had to go through a lot to become a welcomed part of our society and came together
I am American and my parents are Mexican. I love my country and am so grateful my great-grandparents migrated here legally.
Mexican-Americans: Wake up and support the country of your birth! We are not part of Mexico! Mexico and its citizens for the longest time didn't even recognize Mexican-Americans. Now that so many Mexicans are sending billions of dollars over to Mexico, well now they say we are part of them too. I don't think so. We have our own culture here. Support your fellow Americans whether they are latino, asian, black, native American, white, etc. We too are a diverse country.
