The U.S. Southern Border with Mexico is 1,950 miles. The northern border with Canada is the longest in the world at 5,522 miles. Then, including Alaska, there are 23,706 miles of coastline, most of it unprotected and wide open. If you take Alaska out of the equation, you still have 11,323 miles. This does not include the Hawaiian Islands.(Now, how would you go about locking down an island)
