Why is important for European, Asian and Mexican Immigrants to become U.S Citizens?

and why many Immigrants prefer to keep their nationality like Canadians?

Answer:
It is not necessary, Mexicans can keep their Mexican nationality or get dual citizenship.
However be come citizen is important because it is important to vote, and residents do not have that right
I would like to know that too. As for me i don't know.
Citizens just get more rights but I do agree with keeping my nationality, I'm okay being a resident and I plan to go back for a couple of years to study in my country too...but I don't know, I'm still young, I'll see how it all works out. It should depend on the immigrant and how he/she feels comfortable, their choice.
So they can enroll in our military.
if you live in the USA and you are a resident you can't leave the USA soil for over 6 months or your entrance could be denied.
even if you lived in the USA for over 10yrs as a resident and than you go back to your country for over 6 months you risk to loose all the rights you have been getting.
I'm a green card holder and I'm from Japan.

I don't know if I want to become an American citizen because if I choose to have a citizenship in the US, I will loose my citizenship in Japan.

But some Japanese people having a green card want to become US citizens because they don't want to renew their green card every 10 years. And also if they are citizens, they don't need to pay more money for insurance stuff even though that doesn't apply to all insurance policies??? Anyways, for some people, it's more convenient to live in the US if they become citizens. And also, some people want to have the right to vote by becoming a citizen because a green card holder doesn't have the right to vote.

And I thought that Canadians living in the US and having their green card prefer to become a citizen in the US because Canada accepts people to get dual citizenship. Brendan Fraser is a Canadian and he has dual citizenship in Canada and the US. Well, but probbaly he is a strange one, huh? Because I don't think you believe that Canadians want to get a citizenship in the US. But I really don't know lots of Canadians...so I shouldn't really say anything about Canadians.

But I do believe that many people from the country that allow them to have dual citizenship usually get a cizienship in the US because it's just convenient to live in the US. But don't you think you want to get a citizenship in the US if you are allowed to get dual citizenship? You can keep your nationality and you can have one more nationality in the country where you live if you live overseas.

But unfortunately, if you are Japanese, you can't have two different nationalities. So you have to decide which nationality you want to have.

In my case, I want to keep my nationality as Japanese at this point because I don't know what's going to happen to me in the future....
Yeah, basically people like to become citizens because you get more rights.
I don't really know any Canadians that have not turned into Americans when moving there, I think most actually do unless they plan moving back. Maybe some that do not don't really feel like the USA is their home yet so they don't want to become a citizen yet or maybe they plan on moving back to Canada? I'm a Canadian and I don't really know why they wouldn't.
Would you turn into a Canadian if you moved here, or would you want to keep your nationality?
