I would like to move over to the USA to work once i have finished my university degree. Is this hard to do? Is the Green Card lottery system random and not take into account qualifications?

Apply and wait! Just like everyone else. There are many who have been waiting for years. That is what the big debate is here in the states of illegal immigrations. I don't know if for right now what they are going to do, if immigrants in the states have priority or what... I would check with The Department of Immigration. Prices are going up as well... sooner you apply the better.
