Immigration to the USA for family members?

my wife who came to the USA about a year ago wouldlike to sponsor her sisters to visit or perhaps live with us, they come from the Philippines can she bring them to the USA and if so how? I already see the immigration web site, and the I130 but it seems unclear about sponsor brothers and sisters.

Answer:
To petition (get a green card) for a brother/sister you need to be a US citizen to file I-130.

Once you file petition and it is approved you will be issued a Priority Date (it is the date the petition was originally received) the case is then forwarded to the National Visa Center. There it will stay until the visa becomes available. The availability will be determined by your Priority Date. Once a month the Department of State issues visa see link. The preference category for sister/brother is 4. That will give you an idea of how much time it will take. Which is a long time.

When the priority date becomes available you will receive a packet of forms from the National Visa Center. Instructing you what documents you and your relative will need for the interview at the consulate.
Is your wife a citizen or a legal permanent resident?

If she is a citizen she can do it but it will take a long time. If she's just a perm resident it will be very very difficult.

I have a feeling that it is hard to get family members here except for parents, etc..

Good luck to you.
I believe they need a visa.
call 1 800 fed info. you must spnsor them unless your wife makes enough money. bros and sisters have to meet certain requirements ie not be married etc.

the number above you can call and ask for you nearest immg ofifce you may be on hold for a while but an officer can answer your questions.

this above answers your question.

btw you m ust meet income requirements just as you did when you sponsored your wife. the income is higher the more members you want to sponsor.
Leave them there for now until we get our immigration laws under control. We have too many lawbreakers living in the USA and once we get them under control, we would be happy to help those who want to immigrate legally.
