Is it really hard to get PR status in UK?

i'm goin to UK this sept to continue my studies...how long do i need to be there to get a PR and how strict r they regarding this?thanks

Answer:
I guess you mean permanent residence. They are VERY strict, you would not normally get indefinite leave to remain after a student visa - your visa will be set to end shortly after the end of your course. You could only change it to indefinite if you applied under another scheme, for example the Highly Skilled Migrants Programme.

Why do you want to come here anyway? If you have the chance, I wold suggest Canada as a more welcoming country, Australia, the US, anywhere in fact!

Good luck.
Why bother.
When you reach the UK.
Throw away all your ID. and pretend not to speak English.
You get a free house, free money, put first in line for medical treatment and government grants to open a business or study or buy a car.
In fact you will get preferential treatment over UK citizens.
So if you want to succeed in Britain, come here illegally.
