I have never heard this.The most dangerous thing is being abducted.Women, say in Mexico City, are in danger of being abducted right from the street.I was going to walk back to an ice cream store, while my husband was going to the ATM and my husband stopped me...He told NEVER walk alone in the streets.If you go there, you will never see women walking alone, they are always walking with men or in pairs...

Yes and yes. Mexico is corrupt. That is why it makes me so mad when some punk here in the USA complains about getting a ticket (or similiar punishment) when they admit that they were speeding. Or when someone complains that a police officer pulled them over for some violation of the law.
Just imagine living in a country where when the police pulled you over, they took what money or goods you had and then forced you to have sex with them!

No it isn't true, I have a friend just stopped there, she did not have to "put out", her boyfriend had been drinking and they arrested him, she had to pay a $200 fine to get him out of jail and another $200 to get her truck out of impound. They do not have a court system like we do, fines are sometimes agreed upon on on the side of the road. I guess to us they are bribes but your money is gone either way.
You don't have to bribe anyone if you don't want, they'll give you a ticket, ( actually a fine) and that's all, depending on how much they'll charge you you can preffer to bribe them, if your car doesn't have circulation permit, and you don't have license and you are drunk for instance forgett about it they wouldn't let you go and the fines will be high, but bottomline you don't have to bribe anyone, do you think that the officers never give a ticket to anyone? besides, do you really think that a girl never walks alone? haha over 50000000 women and no one walks alone.
I can see a pigish Mexican man in a position of authority taking advantage of the situation.
There is rampant corruption in Mexico by the police. Does this happen every time? No. But it does happen and probably more then you think . It is how they either make more money or get something they want but couldn't normally get.
