Filing immigration papers in another state.?

I got married couple of months ago to my wife, we both work..she a nurse and a US citizen. She just got a letter of transfer from her job, but we haven't filed any immigration papers. Can I file in another state where we are moving to, since we got married in the US but another state. I would really appreciate any useful information from any legal professsional.

Answer:
Immigration is a federal thing and is not governed by states. You can file it any where in the 50 united states. A marriage certificate issued by one state is a valid certificate in another state because they can verify the certificate by calling them.

Don't worry too much :) It doesnt matter if you are on F1. File all paperwork before your F1/OPT expires. You are safe as of now.
What ever you do, do it immediately.
You do not have to file in the same state as where you got married. Your adjustment of status interview will be held at the local office having jurisdiction where you reside. If you are moving soon, then it may be a good idea to submit your adjustment application once you are there. This is so you do not have to deal with having to contact USCIS after a few months of you moving to get your file transferred. You should contact an immigration lawyer if you have questions.
