My husband has a green card........?

my husband has a green card, i am a U.S. citizen. I was born here. How can my husband become a citizen? What does he have to do?

Answer:
I believe he has to have had his green card for at least 3 yrs.
then he can apply for naturalization. There are forms on the web. go to www.uscis.gov and click on citizenship. You can download the forms in adobe format so you can fill them out on the computer and just sign them and send them in with the required stuff. There are instructions there about what to send in with your application.
Go to this webpage and read everything and then download the N-400 application and fill it out:

No you don't need no freegin lawyer... only stupid people who can't follow instructions and fill out a silly form need a lawyer. And it's not the easiest, but it ain't all that hard either... not rocket science. Whatever you do, don't lie on the forms.
Apply for it.
Wait for five years to be eligible US citizen then apply for citizenship.
well it took my mom to go froma resident too citizen in 14 years...i think they have to live here for 5 years...and have immigration lawyers
hm i dont think theres nothing u can do/try to call a lawyer they can give u better answer.
He will have to apply for it and go through several tests My mother has a green card my father is a US citizen and my mother has been in the US (LEGALLY) for over a decade. So he is perfectly legal but if he wants to become one he needs to take the first step in applying at your local office and take it from there
He needs to apply for citizenship. There is a test he will have to take. If he passes it, he will be eligible for citizenship. He will have to swear an oath of allegiance to this country.
Fulfill his residency in the United States and after 5 years, can apply for U.S. citizenship. After applying, he will receive a notice when the initial interview is. Several questions will be asked regarding history of the U.S., the constitution, and possibly might be asked to sing the national anthem. If he is in the military, this whole process can be expidited if he is going to be deployed to a war zone.
Well 7 years is the true waiting time Most of the time depending on where you live state wize. Here in California they, (goverment ) takes off 4 years that'll leave 3 years left but only works if he applies for it. If he waits to long he might have to wait the 7 years Depends on how long you've been married to him since he's been here, if you and him would of applyed right away then it wouldn't be a problem. But if you waited longer then 1 year then the gov will want to know why and it might be a lot of red tape for both of you
The Naturalization Guide makes for good reading as it covers most of the questions you will have on applying for citizenship. I have linked it below. You will also find many other links to other resources at http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/fo... including a link to Naturalization Quizzes which are a great way to study.

All the best to you both.
Since you are married he needs to wait 3 years (discount the time that he left the country), and apply... the fee is $ 400.00
and if you want to hire a lawyer you will pay more..
check this:

If he has been a holder of the green card for all those seven years then all he needs to do is apply, pay the fees and pass the naturalization test. Thats all.
File a petition requesting citizenship and pay the fees. And you DON"T need an attorney to do it!
