No kids, but I pay taxes through the ...ummmmm...nose. I was around for the last amnesty, which is why I don't want to see it happen again. I've seen the quality of American life degrade over the years since the last amnesty. I've seen crime increase, my taxes increase, hospital closures increase, the quality of public education decrease, and lastly the sense of people being one as a nation become damn near non-existent.
No amnesty.
No free rides or shortcuts for illegals.

I'm 56, married, paying taxes, and although he's grown, have a son. I am pro-amnesty because I am aware of what the results would be if every illegal immigrant suddenly disappeared. I am not in favor of the current bill because it sets unreachable financial requirements on people who are making minimum wage.
What exactly, is your question? Amnesty is not a solution to the current problem. I'm a 53 year Californian who has seen what is happening up close & personal. I suspect you are clueless to many of the issues associated with the illegal immigrant situation. When was the last time you were in Mexico? Most of these people just want to join their other family members in America. Don't let the criminal element turn you into another ignorant American.
I'm the child of a LEGAL immigrant, and illegal immigrants are not potential servants for me, but rather competitors for my job and city services- so I'm on the same page as you on this.

I'd be fine with amnesty if they had a good plan to secure the border and stop the majority of illegal immigration for good. Sadly I don't see that happening and it will just be a vicious cycle of granting amnesty instead of actually solving the problem and the country will be driven downward and fall.
