Have you been to Oldham latelty, and seen what Immigration has done to a once proud Northen Town?

It is similar in Blackburn, the town has been virtually split into two, with about a third being populated by majority of Indian and Pakistani Muslims and the rest being populated with white British people. I am not saying that immigration has been a bad thing for my town, the local council has engineered through house clearances a divided town, which is now even more divided than it was twenty years ago. The majority get on well with each other it is only a mindless few that are causing tensions between all parties, including the Indians and Pakistanis, who's hatred of each other can sometimes be more venomous than tensions between either party and the white sections. If the social engineering that had been carried out by the local councils in the 70s and early 80s had not have happened then perhaps relationships would not be as strained.
Do they all have really good landscaping?

I have lived bout 5 mins outside Oldham for 30 yrs. the outskirts are a great place to live.

My mother in law has lived in Oldham all her live & now even she's not as proud of it as she once was , It's a crying shame. We have tried to persuade her to move to a "nicer " area but she's in her late 70's and you know how stubborn Northern folk are!!
yes i have, and it is a shame, it is certainly not the proud town it was 20 years ago, god knows what it will be like in another 20 years,but have you seen the outskirts of bradford? it looks like downtown Beruit.

I lived in Oldham for several years. Anyone who is unfortunate enough to have to live there deserves sympathy, regardless of whether they are an immigrant or not.
The problems there are due to lack of investment, poor planning and decent employment opportunities, not immigration. They do provide an easy scapegoat though.

Most of the smaller northern towns are like this now. Lets face it, when a place becames full of immigrants or muslims, the property prices go through the floor. Go figure!!!!
