No, but for every illegal worker there are about half a dozen deadbeats drawing some government check that could be doing the same job if we didn't pay them to sit on their butts and drink beer.
As for the illegals themselves. You've got to hand it to them they take a big risk. Going hundreds of miles across a border where they don't speak the language for a chance at a job. No way I'd do that. As for the discrimination I guess if that really bothers them so much they could always leave. Apparently it doesn't.
I do need a job and am willing to work hard at it. I would not leave my family though. I have been discriminated against, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't have to leave my town to take an illegal's job and I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd love to get the salary they get even though it would have been higher if they hadn't depressed the wages here. My husband finally got one of those jobs about six months ago and he deals with discrimination from illegals and other hispanics daily.

The people in the fields working under the hot sun picking rocks out of the acres of fields before planting, the people bailing hay in the 100 + degree heat, the people milking the cows in 20 below mornings, they are all AMERICANS. And let me tell you - the ones that do a lot of that work are the kids of the farmers, and they don't make near minimum wage.
As I look at it - they make a choice. No one holds a gun to their heads and tells them that if they don't break our laws and come into our country to do this, they will be killed. They choose to do this. That is it. If they want to make a better life for themselves and their families, then they need to change the way their country operates. But it is easier to come here, so they do that instead.
Let's face facts - it doesn't matter if they do crummy jobs or not, they are breaking the law. They are here illegally, and they should be punished like the rest of the criminals in this country.

why should I work for less?, my descendants worked hard to establish a prevailing wage, I work hard every day and I deserve a place to live and enough to eat, what do you have against the middle class and working poor? Do executives really need MORE compensation. I would much rather have a job with benefits, than fruit for 50 cents a pound.
ok mccoy. let's see. if i were to go to a new country to live & work. the first thing i would do is fill out the application thru INS so i could be there legally. then i would make an effort to learn that country's dominant language. then,once employed LEGALLY i would pay taxes thus being a contributing member of that society..and because of my efforts mentioned, i would probably make more than the min. wage.k so far mccoy? and stealing,raping,drug dealing would be the furthest thing from my mind. this is what differentiates my idea of an immigrant & yours.. Yes i would. I was a over the road truck driver for six years hauling and moving furniture in the below freezing cold of upstate new york in the middle of winter to the heat of the desert in the middle of summer and always being thousands of miles from my family but you know what i did was legal.

No I wouldn't. I couldn't imagine having to suffer they way they do, I am very thankful that so far in this life I have never need to struggle to survive in similar conditions.

But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hardworking and honest (except for when I broke into your house). According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hardworking and honest, um, except for well, you know. And what a deal it is for me! Let me tell you that most of them get paid a lot more than I get paid and not all of them are hard workers. Yes I do the same job they do so i wouldn't have a problem doing theirs. A lot of us move clear across the country for a job away from our familys. We are not discriminated against because we are not ILLEGAL!!!

I took one's job already and got a bunch of his friends fired after I started work. This is an English Only workplace now.
Yes, before I got my degree, I would and have taken the jobs they do. The only difference is I would have been paying TAXES out of my paycheck. I do work hard, if not harder, for what I have earned....and let me tell you, there are times I have worked for far less than they get paid (even less because TAXES are taken out of my check.) I did travel (only hundreds, but it's the same idea) from my family to get a job. My husband's work in the military takes him thousands of miles away from his family. And we both pay TAXES while being far away from each other and other family members. Who isn't discriminated against for one thing or another. At least we citizens pay TAXES.

I am hispanic. with that said. I would not take the job of a illegal unless they get paid more than I do. There is alot of Illegals who take whatever they can. minimum wage is not good enough for me. I work with alot of illegals and I get mad about it sometimes. Then other times I think that I am dumb. I should be trying as hard as I can to get further in life. Being a citizen and a Veteran I should be doing alot better than I am. Its my fault I am working there. Getting 9.00 an hour. in Cali. I can be better I can go to school I can get a better job. Its not the illegals fault that I have not used my advantages toward them. I am to blame! And so is every American that does not use there brains to better themselves. Its our own fault. We have scholarships, a good military, a great country! Yet we blame our faults on Illegals! I have mixed emotions. Lets be smart and work at better jobs than Mc Donalds. Lets let them make burgers. Common McCoy I do understand that immigrants usually make less, well at least in the first 5 years of being LEGALLY here on anywhere else. But saying that the ILLEGALs are getting min wages and that’s our mistake is a nonsense. If you’re legally in any country you can choose, if you’re not than you have to take any job even with min wage.. see the problem here this means don’t be an illegal period.
