A worker who comes here on a 6 month work visa can get a valid SSN from our government.....?
Was anybody aware they could do this?
Furthermore, are you aware that those who get SSN's continue to pay taxes with their SSN even after they over-stay their visas & become "illegal?"
Are you aware that illegals can & many DO get tax id #'s from our government so that they can pay taxes & establish credit here?
Why do we want to continue to live in the fantasy world that first of all, all brown people who speak Spanish are illegal, and second, that all illegals are not paying taxes? There are MANY who do with their very own SSN or tax id #.
Answer:
Yes, Any body who is on a visa that allows them to work can apply for a SSN and it takes 2 to 3 weeks to get one. ITIN is for people who are visas that doesnt allow them to work but are declared as dependents on another persons tax return. For example H-4 visa holders are not allowed to work and they are dependents of H1B visa holders. So they will request a ITIN.
If you dont know whether a particular visa is allowed to work or not, you can go the nearest SSN office and they will deny your SSN application if your visa doesn't allow to work
ya and all their numbers are 999-99-9999.....
It's NOT a social security number!! It's a different type of ID number. It's called an "ITIN."
THE ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS ARE DESTROYING YOUR COUNTRY! Please get your head out of the sand. They are not a benefit to our country. It doesn't matter how many time you say they are helping our country, it is still a LIE!
A few months ago, there was a raid on a waste management plant here in Houston. About 300 workers were rounded up. Those who were here legally were all wearing purple wrist bands and had papers on them to prove their legality. The rest also had documents.... government ID's, SSN cards, drivers' licenses... but these were all bogus. It is not our government issuing many of these types of identification. The coyote who brings them here often has these documents for them as part of the fee. And sure... they were paying taxes. Come on, that's a no brainer, but they drain more from the tax base than what they contribute. Therein lies one of the many problems with illegal immigration. And should you contact Hepatitis A, you might recall that it was rarely mentioned just a few years back. Think it might be coming across the border and that could be the cause for resurgency?
