my wife came here two years ago on a managers visa. I believe she came over on an L1A and my son came over on the same type of visa but the child of an L1a holder version. I am a US citizen and she is a French citizen, married in france, son born in France. She wants to switch jobs but is locked into her current employment as she has the L1a managers visa. I figured out that we can get a US passport for my son fairly easy and as a result take that to social security to get a number. But as far as my wife goes what will need to be done for her to get citizenship here in the US and also something that will allow her to work where she wants quickly? More specifically what forms need to be filled out etc. Someone Knowledgeable please help us out. Thank you.

You need to read this Immigration through a Family Member.

Hope it helps.
Your case is very easy. File an I-130 (petition for alien relative) and I-485 (adjustment of status) at the same time for your wife (along with the supporting documents).
You can also file an I-765 (request for employment authorization) so that she can leave her present job and work elsewhere while the I-130 and I-485 are being processed.
She does not need to leave the country.
It will take about a year for her to be granted immigrant status.
Be sure to file everything before July 30th when the fees go up by as much as 500%.
