There is a BIG difference between immigrants from IRELAND and those who cross the border. It's not Hypocrisy at all. It's the fact that ONE situation is DIFFERENT from the other.

you're right, murder isn't just something that illegals do. But murder by illegals is particularly annoying because it is 100% preventable. If we could only enforce our laws and keep the bastards out, we would be saving lives as well.

The majority of Irish left because of the potato famine- they were LITERALLY starving to death! You'd have done better to make an example of Italians, or another group that immigrated for oppurtunity rather than to SAVE THEIR LIVES!! If staying in their own country means DEATH, we should let the immigrants in! ON THE OTHER HAND, if staying means that, at worst, they'll have to work harder, immigration becomes a luxury rather than a neccessity. At best, they should have to get in line behind those that could DIE if we don't let them in.
At what point do people, especially whites, stop being responsible for what their ancestors did? If the world and this country is around five hundred years from now will people still be saying this stuff? So, are anchor babies really, truly responsible for what their illegal parents do? You can't have it both ways.
There are many of the same problems with the illegals from Mexico and South America and those who came over from Ireland. Both groups are Roman Catholics, which means that they do not practice birth control. However, the Irish came over here in smaller segments, and therefore did not multiply so fast. The problem with the Hispanics is that they are multiplying at an alarming rate, and they bring a culture with them which does not exemplify education or culture. Most of them drop out of school before they graduate from high school. They have very limited skills, mostly in the home improvement trades, and they carry a high crime rate with them. The Irish brought whiskey, but the Hispanics bring cocaine.

I think it is very clear that Americans want their country for themselves. You find this hypocritical? Nearly 80% of modern Americans were born in the USA or are here through legal immigration. About 10% or a bit less are illegal.
When that small a number causes losses in the social infrastructure such as health care, education and crime to mention the main ones.
us "hypocrits" have a problem. I don't see this as hypocracy. I see/feel it is self preservation. We want our immigration policies enforced for our good and the good of others. Anything less is destructive and illegal.
I don't really see why the Irish are important here but so be it. It's true for them too.
