The idea of rewarding illegals who broke the law with a path to citizenship is ridiculous. Our government is a worthless disgrace.

Wow. That was back in 1995. You know they passed an updated version of AFDC since then called TANF, right? It fixed some of the problems with AFDC.
Secondly, I am hard pressed to say feeding hungry children anywhere is a bad thing. (Even though most people didn't use food stamps to buy food).
Thirdly I don't think that many illegals even qualify for TANF since you need a SS# if I'm not mistaken.

And it's true, you need SSN to apply for any welfare and a fake one would more likely to get the illegal immigrants arrested than getting any help from our government. Besides, by using a fake SSN to apply for a job, they forfeit any right to receiving benefits...that's right, no tax return. And where does their tax money go? Feeding the lazy American!!
