Which is it? They are a DRAIN to our economy or because they are spending money here & BOOSTING our economy it has come to the point where Spanish must be offered in the stores & places of business?

Not all spanish speakers are Mexican or illegal, that's why.

If they are illegal, they are driving big new trucks b/c they don't have to earn their money the fair way. They get these jobs and don't pay taxes on their income. Just think of what you could be driving if you didn't pay taxes? We shell out money to pay interpreters so that these people can go to the emergency room and get FREE healthcare. The amount of money that they spend does not offset the amount of money we have to pay for them to be here. And as for your spanish signs and pressing 1 for english...don't even get me started there. If you want to come to this country, do it the way my ancestors did; learn english, get a job and pay your taxes, and fly the american flag. And P.S. yes they spend money here, but don't think for a minute that most of their money isn't being sent back to their families. I've seen it too many times. They make tax free money here, send it all back to their country of origin, and then they go back and live like fat rats building new homes and stuff for themselves.
What planet do you live on? California is going BANKRUPT because of the ILLEGAL alien criminals. They drain our health care system. They hurt our schools. They bring disease because they weren't immunized. The ILLEGAL parents may not be on welfare or food stamps but the kids are.
They don't add to the economy because they send BILLIONS of dollars back to Mexico. They DON'T pay income tax because they don't have a SS#. If they did file a return, they would get all the withholding back PLUS an earned income tax credit due to their low income (AKA free money from Uncle Sam).

Why do you think everyone who speaks Spanish is illegally here? Are you that prejudiced? Mexico is our largest source of LEGAL immigrants as well as illegal.
However, with the money they send home and the service costs for education they can't pay, illegals are a losing proposition by far, economically.

You should visit Monterrey, Mexico. It's not too far past the border. Very poor, very polluted..... but nice , big beautiful brick houses are going up right next the shanties. Where does that money come from? Same thing is happening in Guatemala. Wired from the USA. On pay day, they are lined up in downtown Houston waiting their turns to wire money. Yes, indeedy, most of their money goes back home.
