What about moving to Phoenix to work and study? Would it work out fairly? Possible, difficult...?
Now, seriously what do you think possibilities are there?
Answer:
When you say "escape from Italy", what exactly are you escaping from? If you are looking for economic opportunity, Phoenix may not be the ideal choice (you might want to look for a larger city). Also, be aware that Phoenix is extremely hot and dry in the summer. A daytime temperature of 50 degrees C is not uncommon, partly because the ubiquitous air conditioners throw so much hot air out into the streets. If you like Arizona, you might prefer Tucson, where the University of Arizona is located. It has a more moderate climate, and in my opinion, it is more beautiful.
Please do not judge our nation by those who like to "rant". Some do have a tendency to be more outspoken here than in Italy, but in general we are an open and generous people and will be happy to say to you "Welcome to the United States of America!" Just be prepared for the bad manners of a few.
well, lots of sand.
I'll reply in the same way I replied to a similar question.
I can't move to Italy (or England), so why should Italians have it so easy coming into the US?
I love our immigrant heritage, but our economy is actually hell, despite the numbers. Underemployment is rampant - highly skilled and experienced people "working" at jobs well below their abilities, so not actually showing up in unemployment stats. Then the government here uses those false numbers to justify continued immigration of other highly-skilled people, most especially with the H1B visas (which probably doesn't effect you, but still).
Meanwhile, the US population keeps growing and we are running out of resources. Phoenix, as a desert city, might be one of the most irresponsible places you could choose to settle.
<whew> Wow, that rant felt good - but it's real.
Phoenix is one of the fastest growing Metro areas in the USA. It has ASU and several Junior colleges. It's too crowded for me, but for the opportunities you describe it's a good choice. It also has some of the best golf courses in the world.
My question is will you be legal in the United States?
Phoenix is beautiful, but EXTREMELY hot! We're talking close to 120 degrees in the summer. It's basically a parking lot in the middle of the desert.
However, of course it's possible for you to do. You would just have to get a way to get here from Italy. Maybe a student visa?
I would seriously consider another region of the country though unless you literally like baking in the sun. :)
Good luck to you.
If your gonna be a border patrol agent then yah it will work out anything else good luck. Have all your ducks in a row.
