How is this for a fair immigration deal to illegals?

I was thinking the same thing, but instead of two years, the average contract is for four years. I like that better. If they want to be here, they should be willing to defend all that this country stands for. I have known people that have done just that. If they aren't willing to defend America, then they should go home.
As far as I know thats how it is anyways!! Why would anyone want to fight a pointless war!!! I mean its already bad enough they sent our soliders that are getting killed all for nothing.
Unfortunately, this would be an army of mercenaries. Would it not. Killing for citizenship. Although it has a certain plausibility.
So I can aid another country illegaly invade another and break all kinds of international laws, get shot at and then still be treated as a second class citizen.

I think you should have to be a citizen to serve in the armed forces as well. Why die for a country that doesn't even recognize you? They are not Americans! They are Illegals!
I'd say that is fair. During the Civil War the Irish were recruited as they were leaving the boat. What better way to prove your loyalty to a country than to serve it? I commend those wishing to be a citizen of the USA by serving in the US armed forces. Citizenship should be a privilege and not a right. I cannot think of a better way of earning it. When I was in there was not quite a few Filippinos that had joined the US Army. I have since heard it has been stopped. Nevertheless most were good troopers. Many told me they had no intention of living in the USA after retirement but returning home to the Philippines where they could live like "kings" on their US Army pension.
