What do you think that the result would be of a vote to "ban immigration"?

Answer:
It wouldn't be banned. If we banned it, the thousands of Brits who emigrate each year to sunnier climbs, for the Sun you understand, not the political stance many claim, wouldn't be able to leave this rainy UK. Would they?
Probably about 95 to 5 against it in the Senate.
It would never pass.
until we have control of our borders, yes
Same as it is now. People would still come here illegally. They need to enforce the current laws.
A stupid one.
nooo that would be horrible.

i agree that immigration should be set to a limit but most the time immigrates move away from rough/poor life styles.

why not immigrate if there's gonna be a better life for them. we should welcome them, besides most of them want to work, more than i can say for some of the Brits.

i have to admit i like the immigrants, especial the polish, they seem really nice!
ban it and send them all back , give us back all our benefit and jobs and clean air

if carlsberg replied to ask this is how they would
why bother people would still get in illegally
too many immigrants voting against!
I say if its such a problem why dont these supposed die hard americans go and do the cheap labor jobs. I mean if they do that there would be no reason for them to here. Oh wait I forgot the crazy republicans are too damn lazy to do it.
this country's workforce believe it or not is dependent on immigrants and installing such a ban is going to be difficult to progress for many.
Would that be P.C. ? ( but a great Idea)
But I think we need , at least far better controls .
It would probable be a negative one
as there seem to be more of our lovely Foreign brothers and sisters in this country than us,

mores the pity.
For 5yrs till we get this mess cleared up.& deport the 1s that don't belong here.Close the borders & enforce our laws
A resounding 100% to keep the &&6%^5**&^ out!
If there was a national vote, to stop immigration, for a cooling off period of 20 years to allow those here to assimilate it would pass with about 60% of the vote.
To be honest it makes sense to close all doors to immigrants at this time until "the immigrants" have stopped posing a threat to our country and its people. Whilst UK remains on critical alert all foreign entry should be denied at this time.

If the English public at large had anything to do with it I think the result would be unanimous. If we keep the doors open we will soon be outvoted by the immigrants.
Forget it. Firstly, no British Government would consider having such a vote. Secondly the E.U. Commissioners would over rule it anyway.
NO

(only ban illegals)
Depends on who votes. If Americans get to vote then it would pass today. If Congress and the Senate votes it won't.
They are in the pockets of business and special interests.
It's a shame when a person is more of a Democrat or Republican than an American. Our two party system actually creates enemies of good griends. If the American people could agree on an agenda for the next president and then vote for the best candidate instead of their party, we'd have a much better chance for a good president. As far as immigration goes, our country is practically under attack from the flow of ILLEGALS that are creating dissention in our nation. We may need to take a break for a while until we can get our popuation under control and legal. And get our borders reinforced against this type of ILLEGAL invasion so that we can keep our country the finest one in the world. So, I'd have to say I would hate to keep out brilliant minds and creative individuals but until we can resolve our current issues we need a break, I think a majority vote would approve.
Banning immigration won't happen..
Maybe a pause, but certainly not a permanent ban.

We already have laws against illegal immigration, they're just not being enforced.
I think it would win, in the current climate.

However, it wouldn't last.
OH PLEASE! SHUT UP! NORTHERN LOSER!
Its strange really, in Britain the overwhelming majority of people would ban immigration, yet because they are 'Tribal voters of New Labour or the Conservative or Liberal parties that simply will not happen since all three parties support mass immigration and will share the immigrant vote at election time.

Hopefully there will be big changes in the next election forcing the mainstream parties to listen to there voters. Two marginal parties BNP and UKIP are climbing the ladder fast and will be able to put the Native Britain's point of view forward when they obtain seats in parliment.

I think because there is that many of them here now that we would probably be out voted. But it is a good idea if only it would work. STAR 4 U
