Does anyone from the philippines already had an experience regarding waiting for the spouse visa(k-3 and k-4)?

i'm a fiipina married to an american citizen for almost 10 months already,my husband filed the k-3 and k-4 visa petition last august and he got an immigration lawyer to speed up and to help us with the process. unfortunately, the USCIS informed us that they just received the papers last dec. until now our papers are still on pending status. does anyone can tell me on how long do we still have to wait after the first step in the USCIS.

Answer:
Shelley,

I have a friend (an American) who was in a similar situation...it took him over two years waiting before her Visa was finally approved.

I'm not saying it'll take you that long...your lawyer should explain better how long these things may take.
A lawyer can do NOTHING to speed up the process. All a lawyer can do is make sure the paperwork is filled out correctly and some even mess that up.

Everything is based on the date the paperwork is received. You can expect to hear from the US embassy in Manila in a few months.
