Where Should an American Move To?
It's not as if I'm totally anti-American-Way-of-Life...he... there are some things I don't like about living here, but every place will suck in its own way. I'm just looking for a nice place (hopefully not too cold) where an American can (sort of) fit in and make a good income.
If it helps any, I am graduating in 2009 with a degree in hospitality management. Wherever I'd go, I would want to try and set up a "study abroad" deal to visit next year
Thanks in advance,
Joe

If you want to live a lifestyle not too different from America (i.e. speaks English, modern lifestyle), I would pick either Australia or New Zealand. Both have great environments, and tourism is well established there. I wouldn't go to Great Britain since the cost of living is high, plus the weather isn't known for being that great. Canada is still a bit too close to the States.
try Panama
New Zealand is where I am going if Leave No Illegal Alien Behind is passed. Check it out. The tax burden is less than Australia.
you r idealistic view will get you killed
how about Iraq.
Try Iraq
I have heard wonderful things about Costa Rica and Argentina, in particular. Cheap living, great wine, and lots of expatriate communities in which you can mingle with other Americans and Brits. As I understand, it's easier for non-citizens to buy land there than in MX, as well.
There's always Canada to consider, as well, depending on your personal preferences. Expensive, but pleasant, laid-back, with friendly people and tolerance to a variety of alternative lifestyles.
I think it mostly depends on your personal preferences, but I'd do some research. I think FHM or Maxim had an article in the last year about the top handful of places outside the US to move to, including discussions of advantages/disadvantages of each. I don't recall which issue, sorry.
See ya! Hope you find what you're looking for.
Check out Australia. They have the best immigration laws. 1st you must prove that you will have enough income to support yourself and pay taxes.
I never thought an island for criminals would have a better policy than the great USA.
But then again I never thought the constitution would be rewritten in spanish.
