Each year, poor people from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala illegally enter Mexico. They "do the jobs that Mexicans won't do." They and their children are denied public education, health care, rights of citizens, etc. When they are discovered, they are DEPORTED. Their "good student" children are DEPORTED. Their sick are DEPORTED.
- Mexicans HAD this discussion. It lasted one minute. Now they DEPORT all illegals - PERIOD.
Outside the U.S.A., all countries (Japan - we buy their stuff, Mexico - they enter here illegally) DEPORT ILLEGALS AS CRIMINALS. Only we feel sorry about it.

Absolutely. There are plenty of students here legally, and it's not fair to those that play by the rules for others to ignore them.
We're either a nation of laws or we aren't. When we don't enforce the laws, we create the opportunity for corruption and discrimination via selective prosecution.
This is exactly what happens now with illegal immigration - employers who are politically out of favor are targeted - with artificially low speed limits - the "driving while black" phenomenon - and with drug laws - one set of rules for the wealthy/white and another for the poor/colored.

You said it in your question, they are here illegally. Why is that such a hard concept for some people to get. We are a country of laws if we start ignoring some we are headed into anarchy. Saying all that, though, I can't see how the government will be able to round up the millions of illegals that are here now, they should be given a chance for citizenship but if they are caught breaking other laws than they do their time and back to their home country for them.
