Are u American?
Answer:
Ever been to France? I went there, my accent was awful, they had a hard time understanding me when I spoke French. I felt bad and blamed myself for the lousy service I received. When I came back home to America, I went to a Francophone I knew and asked what I was saying wrong. They told me that I had a pretty convincing Parisian accent and suggested that in other parts of France they hate Parisians. I told him that I was in Paris! He said, 'Now you know why they hate Parisians."
My point. Since then I've watched Americans deal with foreigners. We are very hospitable. We try very hard to be helpful and courteous even toward someone who obviously doesn't speak our language.
Whenever Americans do come in contact with a foreign born person who speaks even fair English, we are very impressed with them. Does this sound like a people with a superiority complex to you?
If I show favoritism toward anyone, its the immigrant. I'm far more willing to cut an immigrant or tourist some slack than and American who should know better. Is that the inequality you're talking about?
Illegal immigrants are doing terrible things in this country. There a small percentage of our country's population, but they commit the majority of violent crimes. Am I talking crap by pointing that out?
yes. i do like cubans. in fact im mixed with 1/4 cuban and 3/4 black. everyone should be treated equally. some or most are prejidice (spelling) between some races.
I am American and like people from all over. I just don't like illegal immigration. I believe that people who desire to come to this country for a better life should do it the right way.
We do not dislike people from other countries. We do not think we are superior to the rest of the world. We do not like ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS who break our laws by coming here ILLEGALLY and then demand AMNESTY.
You'll only find Americans like that in the deep South like Texas (unfortunately, the president is from there) or the ones that are highly uneducated who don't know crap about the world and probably haven't even left their own state. If you visit places like California, you'll find the people highly educated, open minded, and well travelled with respect for all cultures. I wish all of America were like California!
People's hate is fueled by ignorance and fear.
This is why education is so important and is the greatest thing lacking in the majority of the USA.nothing makes for greater vulnerability.
When it comes to Mexican's, it's not them you should be angry at but your own government.
All these people want is a chance for a better life.
If you were really multicultural, you would get that and realize that we are ALL immigrants in NORTH AMERICA, and none of us native to the land.
Do you know how many people live in Canada right now who are not registered? They have to work for cash, can not get health care or buy a home etc. Imagine being a "ghost" in a country.
These things must be addressed by government and although I don't like it either, as it's ruining the fiber of our country (we have pride in it and yet here they all come and couldn't give a hoot etc.) but yet, people are just looking for a better life.
You can't say America has made life better anywhere in the Middle East can you? So what good has any of it been. It's just weakened you more.
This is why you need to wake up and help solve your problems by getting involved with your politicians. They work for YOU, not the other way around.
"R" Remember that you live in a country where people still walk around in pointy white hats and robes too. Something a little wacky about that no?
Levyrat whether you know it or not, that is what multiculturalism is.we have blacks, pakistans, israelis, koreans, phillipines, mexicans, brazillians, and pollocks by the scores having put whites in the minority.
So just admit that you are not for multiculturalism, rather than say you embrace it. Because you cannot be selective about WHOM you embrace and claim to be multicultural.
Let me ask you something...why hasn't the government rushed to assist New Orleans? DUH! Celebs have to raise funds while many still live in tents.
Your government is the one to blame for your Mexican problem. You can't blame the Mexicans for stampeding once they knew the welcome wagon was rolled out.
Just like N.O., they just don't care...they're busy fighting for oil.
Sorry, but a lot of Americans are ignorant as far as other countries and peoples go, and also have a "we're #1" complex. Hatred is how they deal with not understanding other peoples. As an American, I see it day to day and just would like you to know most Americans are nice ordinary people. Don't let the ignorant ones damage your opinion of America. Come to visit and you'll see what I'm talking about.
I don't have a problem with people from other countries. I do have a problem with illegal immigration though.
The U.S. IS superior to the rest of the world. I don't have a problem with immigrants. I have a HUGE problem with ILLEGAL immigrants however...
Yes we're all equal, but immigrants are a guest to this country and must abide to the rules of the host.
am an American and i was born in Mexico. i consider my self American because i live in North America and because am an American citizen. we all are equal except for the racist that some other race.
Sorry, chump, but the race card doesn't work any more. Americans have been more welcoming of more immigrants than any country on the planet. At least until now.
What we don't like is the invasion of illegal aliens who alternate between whining about how good and needy they are and talking * about this country.
And no, we're not all equal. I'll accept equality with immigrants who want to be Americans and who come here legally, but I will never be demoted to the same level as the illegal trash flooding my streets these days.
And countries like Mexico are not even close to being the equal of the USA. If they were, then why would millions of people be leaving?

i like everyone as long as they are legal. check this out. www.dreammoods.com
I notice that you lump all Americans together and assume that we all behave the same way towards immigrants. I take people one at a time. It is not useful to categorize people and to make assumptions based on those categories. While I am deeply concerned about the problems posed by illegal immigration, I pass no judgements on the immigrants themselves. There are many who do, and that antipathy is widespread, but it is by no means universal.
We are not all equal. We vary in abilities of all kinds. Full citizens with clean records have more legal rights than do felons and aliens, legal or otherwise. The wealthy have options of which the rest of us only dream.
We don't believe we are superior we are superior and we don't talk crap about immigrants we voice our opposition to illegal immigrants. Tucan US military strategies are usually to open up foreign governments to democracy so as to further the economic ties with that nation so every war we fight would appear to be a loss because we are not trying to obtain land just foreign governments which we usually do so I would have to say you are dead wrong with that statement.
Them's fightin' words! urstruely is right, BACK OFF A-HOLE! Not all Americans hate every race and feel they are superior. That is a racist assumption. Like JOHN D stated, many Americans just oppose immigrants (whether they be Mexican, Ethiopian, Chinese, Cuban, Russian, etc.) entering this great country illegally. Also, I am pretty damn sure that with a new Commander in Chief and better strategies, our army could knock the crap outta Russia.
