What is your opinon on the Immigration issue?

Do you think its fair for illegals to have to pay to live here, or do you think they should just be allowed to enter the country illegal, work and live here without paying anything? Also do you think the recent proposal of illegal immigrants paying 8000 dollars will help or make things worst.?

Answer:
I think that it costs $10,000 per child per year to educate a child in California and that poor people can't afford local property taxes on top of income taxes to cover that cost. The rest comes from us. More importantly, the money comes from our children's education funds. Our children's programs have been slashed and continue to be slashed in order to teach ESL and give 'intervention programs' to those who come illegally. OUR children's education is failing due to all of those who ignored our very generous limits on immigration of poor people and came illegally.

Their children are not more important than ours.

$8,000 is NOTHING on the cost they cost us, and even bringing that up as an issue truly pisses me off.

My children are in a year round school from overcrowding, where teachers teach on emergency credentials. This in a state with 100% STATIC population domestically, where the entire growth is from immigration, and dispite a multibillion dollar school building campaign.

OUR government needs to protect OUR children and our citizens. We need sensible limits on immigration, and they need to be enforced. Already we issue between 1 and 2 million immigrant visas every year, more than any other country in the world. We issue more to Mexico (which is making the biggest stink about this) than to any other country in the world, and we issue more visas to poor people than we do any other country in the world.

All of this doesn't even count our closing hospitals because of all of the use made of them by those here illegally, health care costs, or the emense drain on social security and other services that have and would result from the bill before the Senate. The bill does NOT solve the problem going forward, there is an exception or a caveat for virtually every enforcement provision there. And without that , I think legalization at all should not be considered, at any price.

It's just an election year sound bite issue. Immigration does NOT hurt our nation - it strengthens it.

I'm more concerned about ending the war.
I think they should be allowed to have social security numbers, work and pay taxes.
I feel that they should have the same shots at citizenship as anyone else- they should apply.
Not legal is not legal- they shouldn't be here without working papers of some sort- we do have to protect our country somehow.
I'm not sure about the fees- Australia requires that immigrants have a certain amount of money in the bank so it helps weed out the drags on society and undesirables- there may be something to that.
Illegal immigrants are doing jobs that the citizens of the US do not want or will not do, so I really can't say that they are taking our jobs. If they want to work- they should be allowed to do so and not be abused.
But I feel that they need to become legal if they want to stay here.
Well immigrants are the reason for many of your problems, assuming you are an American. There is nothing wrong with illegal immigrants except they cause the loss of jobs, the higher prices for renting or buying houses, and racism. It's Ashame that illegal immigrants have the nerve to be racists. Can't stand them, and the only jobs they can get are the ones where they speak to Americans on the phone or at customer services where they can't speak proper English or any English for that matter. Well immigrants need to pay that 8000 dollars and i believe that it is more than Fair because why should they be able to live in the U.S without having any general education about the U.S?
Yes and benefits till they become legal other than emergency medical treatment, as for the $8.000 , well it would be a start at re-paying some of their debt owed to the tax payers of this country { lots of luck getting it } And I'm NOT ANTI immigration, just do it LEGALLY DAM IT !
I'm all for legal immigration. But not illegal immigration.
illegals need to be deported to where they came from, if we allowed them to stay here, it would be a slap in the face to all the immigrants who came the legal way.
Look up illegal in the dictionary, fair is not the issue! They are felons and this proposed bill is an expensive joke on America.None of this sh*it will be enforced and they will be excused from paying a dime.THE (fu*cking)POLITICIANS ARE LYING TO US AGAIN!
This issue is BEING played out for political reasons.they want votes.
immigration and ILLEGAL immigration should be dealt with differently. If a young guy or gal makes 40 thousand dollars in a couple hours by selling real estate (for example) that is good and he/she should be encouraged to make more commissions. On the other hand if that same young person was to make 40 thousand dollars in one day by selling real estate that he had no authority to sell, THAT WOULD BE FRAUD and against the law. HE/she should go to jail.

If an immigrant comes to the US and raises a family, GREAT! welcome to America but should the same people have sneaked in through the desert and uses 3 dollars for every dollar of taxes paid. GO HOME!!
There are laws on immigration,we know that ,but geographically, they can't apply here.
The Americans should annex Mexico so they will be able to control immigration. Obviously Mexico can't control all the people, crossing the border ,not only from Mexico and South America , but from all over the world.
This is the richest country in the world. We can't blame people for trying to come here simply to make a living and getting proper medical care. It's their moral obligation.God help them.
round them up ship them before they are allowed to return a 10 waiting period needs to be enforced for a back ground check can be made. Confiscate all of their property sell it off and pay for the cost of enforcing OUR laws on them. Any money left over will go to the building of the wall. Once you are approved you will be allowed to enter and pay taxes
i think they should all be deported or jailed, these are criminals who have trespassed, the are ruining our economy, spreading disease, lower our education system, rising the crime rate, taking from poor Americans who need the help these criminals are getting and that's just the surface! no they are not going to pay, they are not going to return their homelands, your will have more signing up for welfare because of all the anchor babies, and what if the head of household is a woman, do you actually think she is going to pack up her 6 kids and go home so she can return legally-not!
Its quite simple if u dont have the illegal immigrants whos going to do all the sweat labour-not the fat *** white americans.
Illegal is illegal! I spent over $3,500.00 to immigrate my family from Europe. I realize the illegals coming from our southern border my not have the $$$ but, it does not condone their illegal status. Believe it or not, there is a way for them to legally immigrate from the southern border. Work permits are readily approved at a cost but hey if you want to come to the U.S. you should pay the price and be legal. Remember, the truth will set you free and our illegals from south of the border feel they deserve special treatment. Not the case, come here legally or be sent home and banned for at least 1 year and pay your dues. In other words, why do so many immigrate here legally and our friends south of our border feel as though it is their God given right to be illegal? Most are Christians of the Catholic faith and imagine what their church leaders would say concerning their breaking the law!
I think they should be deported and our current laws enforced. If this amnesty happens, we can expect more illegals flooding our country and our wages and way of life to deteriorate.
I think illegals should stay if they have a job and can support themselves. But, on the other hand we have those illegals that are completely ignorant and expect to get free meals and a place to stay. Those people really need to get a reality check because they need to find their own job and earn their own money. So, we two types of illegals, one that earn an honest living by working hard and making money and, we have the one who just live on welfare. I personally believe that we should let the ones who work and earn a living and obey the law, stay here because they are the people who want a better life. But, the problem is, how do we sort out the good immigrants from the bad?

I think that the recent proposal for the immigrants to pay $8000 will make things better because they will think twice before crossing the border. But, on the other hand, deporting illegals will actually cost more than allowing for them to stay here. And, by deporting them and allowing for them to come back here for whatever amount of price is wrong. But, you know what? Think about it, back in the 1800s, Americans were also crossing the border illegally into Mexico for the land. And, today its just vice-versa. But, don't you see how history repeats itself? I thought that the government might know what to do but, no they are acting like this is the first time that this sort of thing has happened.
To discourage illegal immigration comes down not to a wall, but to applying severe penalities on employers.

The real wages of US citizens will then increase and the huge glut of profits as a % of GDP will then decrease as wages rise for all Americans.

Americans will then have enough resources to be able to breed their own population and family to support them in thier old age in health etc..etc..

Mass immigration is the reason for the average stake of a US citizen in society declining.

1925-1965 - a period with no mass immigration, left a society which had a fair balanced distritubution of production, opportunites and wealth - the American dream.

After the 1965 mass immigration act, this was reversed.

The 1970s/80s where a nightmare of crime and unemployment for many US cities, which now looks to be mostly due to the displacement of millions and millions of workers from industries like argiculture, under mass immigration.

These workers ever undercut by ever cheaper labour, and these workers then migrated to the cities only to find unemployment and few opportunities.
Surely illegal immigration should be stopped completely if possible. At the same time the people who are here already should be taken count of, that is, documented. Regarding the fees (I don't know about the $8000 - but IMO whatever amount the govt demands it is all crime and punishment, and is required for processing the applications, sealing the borders and other expenses incurred because of the illegals), yes, charging the fees is fair because the country is now committing its resources to help them to work here and ensure everyone their welfare. If they are not made to pay then it must come from the pockets of tax-payers. If the people feel it is too harsh for them it is a different matter that can be dealt with seperately.
