Does the proposed immigration bill mean AMNESTY?
with this bill, a fine of $5000 dollars is added and they have to wait 8 to 10 years (according to the last article i read about it) in their own country before coming back.
Answer:
Amnesty is defined as "a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense." The bill is not amnesty because they are still being required to pay the fine, return to their country and pay taxes. Like any other time a person breaks the law they are being required to "do the time" so to say and pay, like a bail for example. Amnesty would be giving them full pardon without gaining anything in return or asking for them to do something in order to be forgiven.
I hope so my people deserve it!!!!
again to fondue if you want to insult me in spanish do it right or don't try at all
ya they will return request the pardon and then be in the next van back over that day
well this is a touchy subject and i have no problem with people coming here LEGALLY, its when you knowingly break the law that i have a problem with and they all should be shipped back and try to come here the right way.
They absolutely do not have to leave the US, under this new bill except for a few hours to get their paperwork.
They instantly get better status than current visa holders. That's not fair to those who currently have visas.
it seems like it to me. i dont want those illegal immigrants here because they are ruining our country.
They are letting illegals get away with the crime they have committed
no,does not amnesty means to forgive and continue, and do you really think this people could survive one year in their country after living in the first world potency?
Yes, it means AMNESTY.
Yes, it means our politicians are traitors.
Yes, it means this nation is headed toward third world status.
Yes, it means that the USA we loved is gone.
Yes, it means we should revolt, try the polticians who did this for treason, and start a new nation with our nation's sovereignty as priority #1.
Anybody who votes for ANY politician is insane.
Don't vote--REVOLT!
not if 2.7 million American vet's have anything to say about it. you just don't realize how may people, Americans have signed patitions against this mess. if they really wanted to be legal they would have done it right before coming here illegally.
Our politicians are working for people who want cheap labor.
But they have to get votes from people who want decent wages.
So they make up these goofy plans to confuse the voters, while not doing anything to stop illegal immigration. Reducing illegal immigration would be easy. Instead of building a wall, or pursuing penniless non-citizens, put the money into a reward plan which targets the American hirers of illegal immigrants. If you turn in a company or individual hiring illegals, you get X dollars per illegal. The plan then pays for itself out of fines levied against the Americans who are hiring the illegals. Instead of a "revolving door" of immigrant capture and release of poor people who couldn't pay a fine anyway, you target people who have something at stake in America. They have enough money to try and cheat to hire someone on the sly and get more! This means they have enough money to pay a fine. But this idea has about zero chance in Congress because then they would have to pay minimum wage to get their condos cleaned, instead of using those hard working but illegal immigrants.
The cheapest labor will always be illegal. Think about it. Child slavery, for example.
This bill is a joke. They may be able to pay the fines, but where it gets tough is returning back to their country and having to wait.ITs not a solution.I know these people are not going to come forward and we will continue having millions of illegals living in the shadows. And as far as the criminals, they are NOT going to come forth.
And NO its NOT amnesty...Amnesty means pardon...
illegal aliens commit a crime when they break our immigration laws. If they are not deported, any other punishment is just "amnesty".
They all need to leave, permanently...period.
Those are the purposed rules...Like that's ever gonna happen. We can't even get them to come here THE LEGAL WAY AS IT IS!
So what makes them think passing a SO CALLED NEW BILL like this will lead to??? It wont change our current Issue? You really think that illegals are going to WAIT 8 months?? and then hand over 5grand! Give me a break. All they ever do is try and limit our rights, more laws more rules. When we don't even ENFORCE THE ONES WE CURRENTLY HAVE!
This bill will forever lead to other disasters down the line.
It's $5000.00 fine payable over 8 years along with back taxes of all years in U S.They may stay the 8 years but not be a citizen with voting rights or any government entitlements. They can renew indefinitely along with the renewal of the fine.To become a citizen they must return to their country for 1 year and apply. It is not amnesty.Amnesty would allow them to apply for citizenship right away. There are other considerations for the right to stay such as a clean police record.
of course it does, what do you expect from this moronic country
why are all you people whining? Your stinking ancestors have smuggled their sniveling a.s.s.e.s over here from europe for hundreds of years. this land belonged to the native American Indian and the Aztecs. nobody invited the europeans. they didn't have any green cards. They just showed up and called it "Manifest destiny" and now the Mexicans and God knows who else is crossing the mexican border( Iranians, orientals,etc..)And now you white people snivel about "hell no,go back to where you came from". Friggin' hypocrites.ALL OF YOU CAN GO TO HELL.
With the ridiculous mandate to leave the country for an indefinite number of years. i think not my friend. Amnesty would be a fair chance at legalization due to the contribution and sweat of labor. Pay a fine?...how about years of living in fear and never seeing a dime back at the end of each year from their paid taxes.
I am not shocked at all by the amount of racism and ignorance in this forum. Until you educate yourselves about the role the American government has played in depleting all natural resources in those countries, supporting dictators and corrupt governments, then you cannot discuss the illegal immigration topic with a full understanding of these people's situations. Additionally, don't you realize that America needs this labor force? Why do you think the government doesn't secure the borders and why do you think that the American government is so against Leftist governements in Latin America? If governments that were considered "communist" in places like Guatemala had not been overthrown by the CIA, then the economy would have been better in those countries and there wouldn't be so many immigrants seeking refuge here. Blame the government and blame yourselves for not keeping the government accountable
Yes, of course it is. It's that "amnesty that's not really amnesty" all over again. Anything except deportation is "amnesty."
After you take away all the smoke and mirrors, double talk, slight of hand and just plain lying, YES.
Yes it is amnesty. And when they excuse all the illegals with legal status - then the politicians, and employers, and other businesses won't be and can't be faced with prosecution for breaking these laws.

I really wish people would realize we are all just human beings on the planet earth. I don't blame the aliens for not wanting to land. Look at ourselves fighting over whether or not to allow people who do all the backbreaking jobs most Americans don't want to stay at those jobs. These people are the backbone of our country. Maybe if they all get sent back to the country they were born in, America would finally get a wakeup call when there buying their fruits and vegetables with arms and legs.
