What is the easiest way for an American to begin living in Canada?
Answer:
Sneak across the border with North Dakota where there's lonly a few markers on the wheat fields.... Do it in the warmer months of the year though, in winter it can be quite cold up there.
Not really all that easy. Americans are not allowed to "work" in Canada. My boyfriend travels there for work sometimes and he is not allowed to move a box or do any work. He has to direct a Canadian worker to do the work for him. Then he falls under a consultant and not a laborer.
So to move there to live you will have to move your residency, and I think you have to have a working knowledge of French to do that.
Secure employment (you'll need to apply for a J1 Visa) and go from there.
hahahaha. i've also been considering this lately. i don't know.
working knowledge of French??...now that is priceless..
If the job needs French, the worker needs french...
as for immigrating to Canada, go here for answers...it is not that difficult if you have some skills, a lot of Americans do it..

Good Question, I'm going through the same problem here, Check it out, one of the easiest ways is to have a good education and job prospects in Canada before attempting to settle down. The more you bring to the table (i.e college degree, job opportunity, good attitude, high income potential) the more welcoming the Canadian government will be. These things are not required for landed immigrant status but they do grease the rails A LOT. Good Luck.
If you are a skilled person, apply to a Canadian company and have them sponsor you.
If you are unskilled marry a Canadian.
