Hmm, I do not know. What was done about illegal immigration when our parents/grandparents/great granparents/great great grandparents (etc) came to the US? Oh yeah that was right, as long as they were not breaking the law they were made citizens. If they can pass the citizenship test make them citizens; if not, deport them.
How about legalizing all their asses so that they have to pay taxes, carry car insurance, and pay their own hospital bills? Novel idea huh?? I am married to a Mexican, but get damn tired of the **** his family pulls, like welfare, etc. They should have to pay like everyone else!!

Cut off education and other benefits for their children that draw them here (except emergency health care until the person is stabalized), actually enforce our laws . Stop family chain migration above what was allowed prior to the 1960's Kennedy changes to immigration law because it causes abuse with those illegally trying to bootstrap their own status by children born here while the parents were not legally resident. Put physical border barriers in border areas where it makes sense. Expedite the visa exit tracking system Homeland Security has just decided isn't important. Require secure ID to vote and drive and work and get benefits and have police require it and run it through a database at every traffic stop.
Thery are ruining our schools and draining our services. Stopping the problem isn't optional.
