It's really dumb, actually. If you're going to penalize people and never pay them back even if they follow the legal route, what motivation do they have to follow the law?
The legal process takes about 14 years and a good bit of cash. It's much more expensive and difficult then immigrating illegally. Why on earth would you want to do it? Immigration to the US is incredibly difficult. That's what's causing these illegal immigration problems. when we will grow a collective brain?

For real. Why would anyone go the legal route if you can essentially achieve the same goal illegally. We don't need NEW legislation. We need to start applying the legislation that we already have. I'm sick and tired of the government thinking that it has to make up new rules. We have a great Constitution - why the hell don't they just use it!?

I can respect anyone trying to make a better life for themselves and their families, but to take illegal avenues to reach that point is unacceptable.
