Christians and immigration..?
Few among us have unblemished records. However, when applied to the immigrant, it seems no matter what the circumstance, no matter how long he has been here or how hard she has worked, they are to be judged by one standard only: How they got here.
"Our enemies hate us for our freedoms."
"Christians love the sinner but hate the sin."
We use these words to reinforce a prejudicial viewpoint, but in almost every case we use them with no thought to their true meaning.

IM A Christian believer andUS CITIZEN AND DONT MIND ILLEGALS BEING HERE. Once europeans traveled to America because it was so mest up and they did not have the freedom they wanted, Indians welcomed them with open arms and they did not suffer anymore. Know Mexicans felt they might have a chance here in America, dont get me wrong all Mexicans that I have met and that are illegal have told me that they wish to live in Mexico so bad because they are free but unfortuneatly low paying jobs, rape, and the government just keeps getting worst and worst. If you have read the news, they are trying to make prostitution legal. They already made abortion legal and cops down there are very corrupt, they try to take away your money so they wont take you to jail (for no reaon, even if people are just walking down the street) . Same with Cuban's, they feel like they have no other option than to immigrate to florida or Mexico because they have a corupt goverment and luckiliy some make it through. I have met so many Cubans back in Florida and I understand their pain and most tell me that if one day there country goes back to the ways it used to be, they wont even think twice and go back. I wont waste my energy trying to convice people about racism, ignorance and hate will alway be around as long as you let it be. After all, we are all human and the real criminals are the ones that murder and commit sin. Crossing borders is not sin and shouldnt be called criminals, nobody owns this country but god.
They may be decent people, but they've committed a crime, and they have to be punished. Sending them back to their homeland is that punishment.
Why is this question just to Christians? I dont really understand your question, but as a Christian myself I have never uttered those words in reference to an immigrant

I am a Christian -- I will let you label me "true" or otherwise -- and I recall that it is said that if you deny a favor to "the least of these" it is like denying it to Jesus Christ, because each human being has Christ in him or her.
I would no more tell a person they can't enter this country because they might cramp my style -- nor for the color of their skin -- than I would deny them a cup of water if they were thirsty. That would be unChristian.
And I agree that a lot of anti-immigrant talk is a secret way to couch bigoted feelings. If there were millions of undocumented British citizens here, no one would bat an eye. The immigrants from Mexico are easy to spot, and are ostracized the same way Black people once were.
I think anyone who uses the phrase "TRUE christians, like myserf," needs to brush up on the virtue of Humility.

I belive that God instituded the law, & laws are meant to be obeyed. If we condone illegal immigration we condone breaking of the law. Remember Jesus said anyone that does not enter in by the gate is a thief. Why did Nehamia return to jerusalem, what happened to jericho when the walls were knocked down. Your question has been more or less answered by Christ in the parable of The Good Samaritan, Samaritans were essentially half Jewish and half Assyrian brought about by Jews who collaborated with their Assyrian overlords and married and had children. These were regarded as awful mongrels so to speak much like a colored kid in the Southern US 50 years back who had mixed parents. Anyway we are told that every man is our neighbour and we should treat them accordingly no matter what are feelings or predjudices are against them.

Would a true Christian force people to donate to charity or would they ask? Hard working citizens are paying for illegal immigrants to be here in many ways. Loss of jobs and competitive wages, government benefits for illegals and their children, overcrowded schools and jails, closing hospitals and rising insurance costs. How much charity is enough? It really does matter how they got here, because we can't fit everyone in the world into this country all at one time. Where is your compassion for your fellow citizens? Or do you really think this is simply a racial issue?
There will be no illegals in heaven. We will all need a special 'passport' to get in. Is that unfair?
I am a Christian (most likely not true) but I would never use the name of God to try to prove a point. I believe that God cares equally for all of his children, and that one day I will have to stand in judgment of the wrongs I have committed.
No excuses. Illegal means illegal. Can some random guy break into your house and steal all your valuables from you? Same thing that the illegals are doing to us, the Americans. Laws exist for a reason.
