Question about the k1 visa?

My receipt number is dated 15th of May 2007. I called today the USCIS to ask them when i am going to get the NOA2, i already got the NOA1.
They said that it can take 6 months.
I always thought that it takes only 2 months to get the NOA2 and that the petitioner has to fill other documents after that, like the Affidavit and send them to the USCIS.
I thought that all the process would last 6 months, so that at the end of the 6 months i had to go to the embassy for the interview.
Now they told me that it can take 6 months just to get the NOA2, in that case the whole proces would last much longer.
Any suggestions?

Answer:
Nope...whomever told you that the process would take just 6 months was incoorect...they should have told you from 6 months to 8 months with a year a possibility. sorry...just be patient..
It can take 6 months, but that doesn't mean it will.

Look, it takes 6 months to a year. A lot depends on which country the foreign fiance/fiancee lives. The system moves at its own speed. It's based on the date the petition is filed.

I can promise you that there's no shortcut.

To answer your question, learn the virtue of patience, because that's what's needed the most in immigration matters.

Good luck.
