Most are retirees, who provide jobs to Mexicans in Mexico. I would guess that about 95% of the Americans in Mexico are in Mexico Legally. They aren't there taking away from the Mexican economy, they are adding to the Mexican economy.

Mexico is a major oil producer, but that wealth is not put back into the Mexican economy, if it was, there would not be 20 million Mexicans Illegally in the States. Mexico might be a Multi ethnic Nation, but ti is over run with racisism, mostly between the elite Mexicans and the poor indiginous mexicans of indian heritage (peasants).
