How long does it take for uscis takes to respond to us citizenship in NY after being fingerprinted??

i file for us citizenship in oct and was fingerprinted the same month and i haven't received a reply from them. does it usually take that long in NY???

Answer:
On average, it takes up to 18 months before the whole process is completed.
The fingerprints are run by the FBI, and I understand there is a bottleneck there with all of the people getting naturalized, and the stricter background checks they now run. I assume that is why fees are going up, to hire more people.

I can't say how long it will take, I'm afraid. I understand it is usually well under 6 months unless you are from a 'country of interest', but you should ask uscis what to expect.
it will takes up to 18 months before the whole process would be completed.
