Can green card be used as a work permit?

I am 14 and if I want to work I need a work permit. But does my green card count as my work permit?

Answer:
No. Your green card only shows that you are here in this country legally. Not that you can hold a job. Work permits are required of students under a certain age to make sure that employers meet certain rules and guidelines when employing students. You are only allowed to work a certain number of hours and a certain number of days per week. During the school year, work cannot begin before a certain time of day and, I think, regardless of the time of year, cannot end after a certain time at night. There are also other criteria that must be met. The rules vary from state to state, maybe even from city to city. To get a work permit, you have to see your counselor at school. They can give you the guidelines that YOU must meet, as well as those of your potential employer.
No a teenagers work permit is different than a green card. go to your school office they should be able to help you get the permit.
Once you have your green card, you are allowed to work. But in many states, you may need your parent's permission, and you can work only certain hours stipulated by your state's Labor Dept.
High Five for you, if you are thinking about working and taking on responsibility at such young age. Wishing you the best!
You can work with a green card. If it is a legal one.
