Your second question accurately captures the essence of relations between ethnic groups immigrating to the USA. What needs done is to shoot every school teacher that says the USA is not a melting pot but a salad of distinct cultures. They are destroying a great culture by denying its existence. I will get a letter over this but it is true. STOP PUTTING DOWN MY CULTURE. START WORRYING ABOUT OFFENDING ME!
Americans need to rise above the fear they feel against anyone not like themselves. We are in many ways the most powerful, most advanced nation in the world and with that comes the responsibility to lead by example, not sink to the lowest level.
We need new leadership.
We had harmony back when each state was allowed to run their own business, and people didn't feel entitled to tell everyone else how to live. Certainly people from one state felt superior to others for various spurious reasons, but people from one state did not petition congress to prevent people from other states pursuing Life their own way.

There has always been things happening in America. The thing is today we have 24 hour news. There isn't major things happening 24 hours a day so the media has to make things look important to keep people watching. Here's an Example: Tornados in the midwest have been happening since the beginning of time but now when a small town in Iowa is hit with one it makes world news and is treated like it is the worst one in history.
The first and most important thing is to participate in the process. Every current member of Congress should be voted out and we must begin again. Term limits must be instituted and responsibility be brought back into the society.
Career politicians are what has changed this country and now money has made it worse. We as a country need a constant flow of new ideas to meet the challenges of our country. We will not and do not get this from our Congress today.
They are an awful bunch and we are responsible for them being there. American seem to have forgotten themselves how to get " outside the box" also. We need to step up and change the whole process in order to get it back to our control. Every seat in Congress should changed and that is the first and most important step.
this utopian dream of yours never existed. The closest you can come to it would be during WW2 and right after 9-11. Perhaps in order to by fully unified we need an enemy..

If Americans from every aspect of life were to return to a society of "tranquility", the first step would have to be replacing the existing Federal Republic form of government with one that is a Internet-based democracy. In such a pure democracy as this, there would be no more wars due to the complete replacement of a US wartime economy with one that is peaceful in nature. The second obstacle that must be overcome in order to achieve a society of tranquility is that of social and economic inequality. So long as certain economic barriers exist disguised as racial and/or social barriers, the ticking time bomb of inequality will continue to be a potential cause for massive civil unrest on a scale not seen since the anti-war protests of the 1960's and 1970's. Hey, Rico, I am not afraid of immigrants from Mexico. Many of my friends are immigrants from there. I am not afraid of illegal immigrants. I am furious that they are allowed to break the law, over and over. My wrath is with my own government for excusing such flagrant violations.

I don't believe there will ever be harmony, history has shown us that, yes we have built something wonderful... with the sweat of everyone we have used and the raping of other countries natural resources.. and that will come to an end someday and it won't come across the Mexican border.
1) Find a way to remove the majority of our troops from Iraq and have Iraqui's do their own fighting, like good old azz-kizzing Bush promised us! But then he also promised that this war would be over in 3 months...I wonder what kind of drugs he is really on!
2) Bring our troops home and militarize our border and ports. Never mind the stupidity of sending border agents to jail for doing their job. Stop the BS and take the border agents out of harms way and put our military there and let them fight to stop this "illegal invader" war! Once we've militarized our borders and ports, THEN we need to build the fence and begin MASS deportations. Expensive? If we didn't have to support the war in Iraq and all of these illegals and their litters ; we could afford to protect ourselves, here at home, where we need to defend ourselves against terrorism.
3) Get an iron grip on illegal immigration and I don't mean just the ones that are sneaking across our border. There are others that have expired their visas and just never went home. We CANNOT allow our country's resources, services, and our economy to be depleted as a result of big corporations desires to have an unlimited pool of unskilled, cheap laborers. Other than that, who the heck needs illegals to do jobs? How were these jobs done BEFORE the illegal invasion? Employers need to pay the price to get the job done or get the heck out of business. The taxpayers are tired of being a cash cow to suppor these corrupt dead-beat employers. We must strive to KEEP our middle class workers strong so our tax dollars will support OUR economy and not Mexico's economy!
4) Correct that outdated part of the constitution that was written to accommodate the birth of a slave's baby, by automatically making the baby born here an American citizen. No baby should be considered an American citizen unless it is born on American soil to American citizens...not to illegal parents, ONLY TO AMERICAN CITIZEN PARENTS!
5) Immediately STOP all social services such as: subsidized housing, food stamps, welfare, education, medical coverage, etc. to ALL illegal aliens. Severely punish, by handing out mandatory jail time and 6-figure fines, to those employers found to be hiring illegal aliens.no excuses, no exceptions!
6) Stop the "breaking up the family" BS, whether or not a minor child was born here; they should be deported along with their illegal parents, period!
