i am currently going through the process of getting residency in oz and someone told me that this means I am no longer entitled to NHS healthcare in my native uk? surely this isnt correct, as if i decide to move home for good and I am employed I am paying UK tax and therefore I am entitled? if not can I still get private healthcare in the uk if i move home?

what u need is a UK pasport, or a Visa/master card.
You should, shouldn't be allowed to have it both ways
If you still retain your British Passport and travel around the world then go back to the UK you will still have the right to health care there because you are still a British subject.
No mater were you live even if you register as a permanent resident of Australia.
But if you take up citizenship of Australia and give up your British Passport and Birth Right then you will come under the heath care system of Australia.
