"If you want citizenship, join the U.S. Army!" Should we give automatic citizenship...?

to illegal immigrants provided they are willing to join our military?

After a gruesome background check, of course. This would give these illegals running for the border, better pay, government benefits, and an opportunity to be a hero for the country they're so desperate to be in! It would also help our military and prevent the draft system! Sounds pretty good to me!

No absolutely not. If they are illegal they have committed a Federal offense and should be denied the ability to serve this country. If they wanted to join the US military then come here legally. And why do you believe we need a draft? And if we did why should we use foreign born people to fill these positions rather than US citizens who are required by law to serve if drafted?
I don't think we should. Personally I do not want illegal people being given guns to defend me. Call me stupid, but that sounds really dumb. It's just like giving a criminal, actually it is giving a criminal a weapon and telling him to defend the U.S.
