Travelling to Paris on Sunday 4th March passport expires on 13th March will i be able to travel?

Going by Euro star

Answer:
OK...some correct answers instead of the above tripe.
I assume you are a British Citizen with a British passport. You are travelling to Paris by Eurostar from Waterloo.

The French Embassy's website says (of Brit Cits): As the holder of a British passport, you may travel to France up until the expiry date of your travel document.

The Immigration control at WATERLOO is operated by the FRENCH AUTHORITIES ie you pass French Immigration whilst technically still on UK soil. The Control at Gard Du Nord is operated by the UK IS. The UK IS will not stop you travelling to the UK if you are a British Citizen.

Your greatest worry is that the carrier will not take you. Check with Eurostar in case they have any internal restrictions on carriage with a limited passport. You can also check with the French Embassy and the PAF (French Immigration) at Waterloo.
If you do get OFFICAL advice (unlike this) then get names.

Later....interesting advice from another user regarding a "weekly travel visa". What the hell is that? Something s/he just made up?!
Many countries require that your passport is valid for at least 6 months. don't know about France tho.
you should have at least 6 months on your passport to travel anywhere abroad. i would ring and ask thier embassy they may not let you travel.
Not a good idea. Your passport generally needs to be valid six months from the date of entry.

UK immigration will probably stop you before you can board the train.
yes i think the 6 months apply
I went to South of France on the Eurostar last year with only 1 week and a half on my passport and I was allowed across
Hope this was a help
Beckie
no.
No u wont.best thing u can do is go to a travel agent
no
you need six months left on your passport
passport office takes about 3 Weeks to renew passport
most countries will not allow you to travel without at least 6 months left on your passport , besides , you will not be able to leave the country of origin without the time left on it ........if you are going by eurostar ? sure ......but not to cross the ocean , such as from US to another country .....
but ? where and which country are you from ? are you in Europe ? if so ? a regular ID will be okay :-)
Travelling to Europe requires a minimum of 3 mths on a passport
I know cos i was going to France in Jan and my passport ran out in April when i rang the french consulate they said it would be fine.
You could travel to the passport office and they will issue renew yours the same day, but it is expensive. Here's their website address it may help.

No, I think you need to have a minimum of 6 months left on your passport on the day that you travel BACK TO the UK!
there's no better value http://www.cheapholidaysun.com
You are a British citizen. Britain is a member of the EU, all those
treaties included the right for EU citizens to travel freely throughout the EU on a their national passport without the requirement of an extra visa.

Check with the British passport office if due to security arrangements things have changed the cheapest way may be to obtain a weekly travel Visa.
