It wouldn't cost too much to get them out of the USA. They'd leave the way they came when they can't get free medical care, low cost housing, jobs, welfare, etc. They would have no reason to stay. Those that won't leave on their own can leave kicking and screaming through DEPORTATION. The one time cost of deporting them would be less than the cost of supporting them for years and years.
Besides, Calderon is planning on giving businesses incentives to offer those young people, who want to return, a higher wage rate. That might encourage more to return to Mexico, at least.

But we could build a really big catapult and just launch 'em back.
damn near all the illegal mexicans here in the whole u.s. of a! and their children! and their grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews. the whole cotton-picken' bunch (with enough left over to gas-up all buses for extra trips, round trip), but then who's gonna pick our fruit, veggies, cut our lawns, wash our cars? americans? we're too smart to work for $2 an hour. aren't we?

That would be a good start. Don't forget, you'd have to provide food and water for the trip, too!!! If we didn't make it so tempting for illegals (free health care, food stamps, off the books wages, no taxes, everything also written/repeated in Spanish), we probably wouldn't have so many. And the idea that they work so cheap isn't true anymore - day laborers in NYC are going for anywhere from $100-$150 per day, depending on the work. That's about the same as what a non union American laborer is getting. Make things harder, and they won't pour in so quickly.
