Answer:
Hi Debbie

Sorry to hear your story.

His reason for entry to the country was to settle as the spouse of a British citizen - so it's correct that his visa is no longer valid, as he is no longer living with you in marriage.

You can report him to the Home Office, via the UK Visas website, or by telephoning them to explain the situation.

Unfortunately, he has obviously had help to do what he's done to you, and he knows that by disappearing and not contacting you directly, it makes it very difficult for him to be found.

If he does get picked up, he can try to appeal and prove that he has made a life here - but given how little time he spent with you, and the fact that he is working cash in hand, I doubt his case would stand up. But the Home Office would have to find him first, which they may not have the resources to do.

If you really want to locate him, you could try to make some links with the Turkish community in London. Stoke Newington for example has a large Turkish community. You could also try making links with women who have married into the Turkish community Try www.egotm.com

However, if he has treated you so badly, is it really worth doing so? Unless it is to arrange a divorce!

At the end of his 2 year visa, he is highly unlikely to be able to gain his Indefinite Leave to Remain, so if it's any consolation to you, he's either going to have to be here illegally or at some point he may have to seek your help. I hope you'll turn him away if he does - as no man should get away with exploiting a woman to get a visa.

Just don't let this selfish man affect your self esteem.
Sounds like he might have been using you to get a "limited leave to remain". It's valid for 2 years. He won't be able to stay in this country once it runs out, he must get a "indefinite leave to remain" visa, and the only way he can secure it is if he is still with you. The Home Office requires that you show at least 20 documents as proof that you are a couple living as man and wife. Why is he not contacting and talking to you personally? Why is someone else telling you he is out working in London. Why is he not coming home to you every night? Why don't you think he's current visa is not valid? He can stay here no problem until it expires and then quietly disappear over here if he's got a cash in hand job.
