illegals are illegal no matter how they want to be called.
Illegal immigrants is a term those here like better than illegal aliens. Illegal aliens is what they are called by law. What ever term you use, illegal is still what they are, and the fine for being here illegally is deportation.
The spelling.

They are the same thing. One is just considered rude. People tend to like "immigrant" better than "alien".
One is PC & the other isn't.
