Can one get a Iranian visa while in India?

Hi,
It will be difficult to get it but not Impossible.
The reson why I say it would be difficult is that - embasies have to do checks to see if you have not been denied visa for that country's visit previously. As you are In India, Iranian embassy there, would not have any information on your British passport as you would not have applied for Iranian visa from India before. So they cant tell if you have been denied visas for Iran before. They would then need to consult the Iranian Embassy in Britain to get the information. And this is what they do not want to do. This inccurs cost, more work for them and no additional fee. So they avoid this route.
When I say its not impossible -
1) It will help you if you have already been to Iran before on a Visa and have not over stayed and can display this on your passport clearly.
2) Have any relations living in Iran, who can give you a letter of sponsorship or any friend who can do the same.
3) You would need to convince really hard that this is the last time you are requesting visa from India and from next time you will plan your trip in advance and get the necessary visas from Britain.
4) At the moment UK has pretty good political relations with Iran so you might just be lucky ( I would not say this for a US citizen ((:

I Don't think show ..if you have visitor visa for India less than six month you wont be able to get the visa for Iran from Indian based Iranian visa office.
If you have long term working or immigrant visa you can apply for the visa as holiday or short trip from Delhi visa office .
