Do head of state need a passport when visiting other country for state visit?
Answer:
they need a diplomatic passport
Depends who it is. Someone easily recognisable like Bush from the USA then no
Someone from Khazakstan who nobody knows and recognises then yes.
they are cleared by a diplomatic passport thru the State Dept. They don't carry a regular passport .
I expect they have some sort of diplomatic pass, but also someone who is head of state presumably held a passport before coming to office.
A good question i look forward to seeing the answers
As a British passport is issued in the name of Her Majesty, it is unnecessary for The Queen to possess one. All other members of the Royal Family, including The Duke of Edinburgh and The Prince of Wales, have passports. The President of the United States, his immediate family, certain top officials, and diplomatic personnel are issued Diplomatic Passports, which have a black cover and for which the bearer doesn't have to pay a passport fee. I understand that the Prime Minister would also travel on a Diplomatic Passport, as would Presidents and PMs of other countries.
No
they must have diplomatic passports to enter and exit the country they are visiting
