Could we give the illegals amnesty if.?
Before they get amnesty, they receive a bill.
This is a bill for all of the taxes they would have paid to the government for however many years they were here.
Any health care that had while in this country gets put on the bill.
If their children went to Public School during the time they were in America, they get a bill for that too, because they didn't pay for their children's education like we citizens have.
They get billed for a portion of all money spent patrolling the border.
They get billed for the cost of re-eradicating diseases like Polio that they are bringing into the country.
They get billed for the increased cost of law enforcement in "Sanctuary cities", where illegals are bringing up the crime rate.
And when they pay their bill, they get 100% amnesty. How does that sound?

LOL, under your plan we wouldn't have to deport anyone. They'd see the amount of their bills and run like hell south to the border and never look back.
Now back to the reality channel...great idea...impossible to implement. We can't figure the tax they owe since most are day laborers and are paid under the table. We'd have to come up with a fixed penalty dollar number...same for health care.
Good thoughts though...more thought in your post than all the politicians have put into this issue combined.

it almost sounds good except for the fact that your forgetting they do pay taxes.so for their children to go to school they have paid for that.
For the cost of money patrolling the border, you need to send that bill to mexico...why should they have to pay for something that they essentially defeated and didnt use?

WRONG!! Your ideas would never work because they don't make enough money to ever pay the "bill." Currently it is estimated that we have to shell out over $22,400 for each illegal family each year. That includes taking into account sales tax, property tax from their rent, etc... (I think the tax paid estimate is too high.)

Good idea but there is a MAJOR drawback. Some politician trying to buy a few more votes would soon try to forgive all that debt. Just keep it simple and send all illegals back where they came from.
It sounds good. But where would they come up with all that money. Hay I say have the Mexico Government start forking out some of the tab.

Health care costs imposed by illegals are estimated at something like 1 billion. Divided over 12 million illegals, that's only 83 bucks a piece. That's one of the bigger cost estimates I've heard. Back taxes would be bigger, for those working under the table, but many of them paid taxes already (under stolen SSNs), and haven't been filing returns - they may actually be 'owed' money - and the tax bill of those working off the books would be hard to calculate.
So it'd be hard to tabulate the bill, and it might not be high enough to discourage them.
I think sticking to our guns and insisting they obey the law is a better bet. But, granting some consideration for coming forward, rather than having to hunt them all down, might be a practical compromise. Outright Amnesty isn't a good idea, but a work visa and a place in line for citizenship /behind/ legal immigrants might not be too unreasonable.
