I came ahead to the US to file the paperwork and get ourselves established, we had been living in Mexico. I never dreamed it would take so long. Is there any help out there for US citizens. I mean this is like hardship, the stress and burden it places on myself and two children to be without my partner, their father. Any info would help...

it took a total of 5 years for me and my husband. You just have to wait you can apply for goverment assistance. BUt, you also have to realize when you apply for you 485a and the affadvdit of support you have to be finically stable. You can apply to the consulate in Juarez but there is little or no luck there. I wish you all the best.

There is no "fast" way. The system is the system. Your hardship is no different than the hardship of anyone else. Be patient.
