One of my best friends is married to a Scottish guy who...by the way...is now illegal because he over-stayed his visa to be with her. They fly the Scottish flag in front of their home. No one has ever complained. No one who sees him in the street is yelling at him to go home. I wonder why? Oh, yeah, it's because he's White. He blends in better. He speaks the language. So that makes it ok, right? People try to say it's not a racist thing, it's not a cultural thing but if they REALLY believe that they are lying to themselves. Go to New York City. Go look at Chinatown. I'm sure you'll see a Chinese flag or two. Go look at Little Italy. Italian flag flying high for all the world to see. No problems. No complaints. No controversy.

its simple,, Mexicans are the new wave of immigrants that's y they are getting picked on,,, i don't think its fair that Americans can wave an Irish flag and be proud of their heritage but Mexicans cant,,,, just because they are proud of where they are from doesn't mean that the are not proud to be American,, they shouldn't have to loose everything they've ever known just to live here,,, i know alot of Mexicans who fly the Mexican and American flag,,and to the lady above me,, Mexicans are not collecting social security that they didnt pay in, actually alot of them have paid taxes and social security with no hopes of receiving anything in return,, most of the Mexicans who just come here on work visas and then return to Mexico never receive any social security or and benefits,, but ill bet some ones grandma on here is receiving a social security check from Jose's wages for the last 20 years,,, i think any race should be allowed to fly whatever flag they want and not hear any grief about it,,, i don't like how its OK for Americans to go downtown and support the Irish flag and get wasted and make asses out of them selves but when Mexicans want to have a Mexican parade and do the same then its wrong? that is so hypocritical......

I believe the problem is that the new immigrants want special treatment and rights and in the past all immigrants were treated equal. I am SOOO not racist! But I believe that if you want to live here you should have to pay taxes like the rest of us and you can't just have social security dollars if you've never paid in! It's not fair to the rest of us who live here and work hard too! And if their country is SOO great and wonderful ,how come they will do just about anything to get here even risk their lives to be here illegally????
I'm sure all the LEGAL Scots also pay for their own health insurance, car insurance, and don't expect the government to give them everything for free, either. If you're such a bleeding heart liberal, then invent a time machine and go back to the days of the Pilgrims. Americans are just too full of sh!t. Ever since I met the first one all they do is complain, whine, moan, and b!tch about anything. They should be put to live under third-world conditions for just one week and then they would learn how better their lifestyle is.

I have no problem with the flags of their country being flown as long as the American flag is above it. My mother was British and we flew both flags at our home with the US flag higher.
