Should we boycott Mexico?
Answer:
Yes, we should. Be sure to check produce labels as well.
I'll gladly do my part. Holding off on vacation this year, opting for Colorado snow. Whenever possible, we need to buy American products.
I already have--- if a fruit has a sticker "hecho en Mexico" or made in Mexico- I squish it and put it back! in support of America!
Nice idea, but good luck getting enough people organized to make it effective.
Mexico & China buy nothing there food can rot in the docks. or on the shelf in the stores.
Good idea. Mexicans living in Mexico will have even less money because of the decline of American tourism and American consumerism, which will result in even more Mexican illegal immigrants coming to this country.
Boycotts don't seem to work very well in America. Too consumerist, I guess.
Boycotts punish the boy-cotters. We have laws concerning legal immigration. We should keep after our elected officials to enforce our already-existing laws.
Why thank you John, I was just about to post this as a question.
I have never been to Mexico and I never planned on it. Ive been boycotting that place since Ive been old enough to understand what was going on there.
We all need to boycott Mexico because they are using "us going down there" as another reason why we need them. They are trying to use the "lazy american" thing as well. I mow my own lawn now. Lets prove to them that we dont need 20 million mexicans here to do the jobs we don't do. Maybe only a couple thousand.
To the female above me. Dont group mexico in with other Latin countries. I'll go to Brazil, Puerto Rrrrrico!, Dominican Republic, Costa Rico, and many others!
I would do this in a heart beat. It worked with Cuba why not try with Mexico? I am in.
OK!!...and make it worst right?
We should boycott the politicians who do nothing to fix the illegal alien problem at the polls.
That would be hard to accomplish seeing as we are not all aware of all the companies who hire illegals...they are scummy so they will try to keep that private.
As much as possible, yes we should. If I see something that says made in mexico,I don't buy it. I've never been there and have no intention on going for vacation or anything else. I try to get things made in the U.S. whenever possible.
No. Absolutely not.
I'm not sure college students will agree with you...where will they all go for spring break? :) More seriously, I guess it's the only way to stop illegal immigration in the US, more importantly employers need to be aware that if they hire illegals, they will be fined.
Good point. I was considering going to see the ruins. No more.
YES
Sounds good. Don't use companies that support /hire illegals. This was easy to see on both May 1st protests. I don't go to places that were closed!
A boycott may not mean anything since boycotts don't work but I am doing my part in protesting the companies that are ILLEGALLY hiring the illegals.
John, do you drive a car? If you do it was probably made in Mexico. Do you put gas in that car? If you do it was probably brought here from Mexico. Lots of the fruit, vegetables, and meat you eat come from Mexico and not all of them say anything about the stuff being from there. If you own Maytag it is made in Mexico, LG appliances made in Mexico, most all of our electronics were made in China.
Have electricity in your home? The petroleum used to produce that power was probably brought here from Mexico, so lights out, cut off your electricity. Gas for your stove? Better cut it off chances are it came from Mexico.
So good luck but you will have to walk everywhere and starve and live without any modern conveniences.
Sure. You start. Hope you have better luck than you did getting people to the "rally". ROFL
ummm one problem... Mexico sells petroleum (gasoline) to the US.
I think it was this week, that gas prices went up, due a to a terrorist bombing on a mexican oil thing.
do u really wanna pay over 4 bucks for gas? i think not
Ha! Good luck trying to make people not vacation in Mexico! Its the summer and people need their vacation and what better place to go then Mexico!
Why don't you, boycott all you want who wants your business any way!
