Why are Mexicans so racist against poor indians?
The poor Central Americans sneak across the Mexican border so they can do the jobs that the fat lazy Mexicans won't do, like clean their houses, cook their food and take care of their babies.
It is WAY more common for people to have servants in Mexico than in the US. Even middle class women in Mexico are too lazy to clean their own houses.
Mexicans are racist against their southern neighbors because they are dark-skinned indians. Racism against Indians in Mexico is very widespread. Mexicans will not admit that they are immigrants too, they descended from the Spaniards and continue to exploit the poor indians. Mexico even stole land from Guatemala. Mexico is rich in comparison to Central America, why can't they share? Why are Mexicans so racist?
Answer:
I was calling on a plant in Oklahoma that was manned by Mexican nationals. The managers were making jokes under their breath and laughing at some of the workers; mocking their Spanish and their small body size. I asked them why they were teasing these men and they both said "you think they are Mexicans but they are ONLY Indians" I was surprised at the condescending and racist tone.
I asked a former Professor who worked as an Ambassador throughout Central America and Mexico about this. He said that although Latin Americans tend to exaggerate the accomplishments of the ancient Indians they are treated poorly and racism is worse than I could ever imagine.
Although there are instances of racism in America, I am convinced that we are the only country in the world that is trying to rectify the situation. Every other country points fingers at the USA while treating their minorities with the lowest of contempt. Just find out how the gypsies are treated in Europe.
I love the way Psi Chi uses a racial slur while denying racism. She has proven the point of the questioner while proving her ignorance.
good question!!! i can't wait to see what excuses they come up with for this!
Mexico just hasn't gone through the same sort of civil-rights/multi-culturalist movements as the US. Thier white upper class is still entrenched, and thier government has always been pretty corrupt (not that you can't find corruption in any government), and they prefer to let the Mexican mestizos and natives that they dispise flee to the US, than allow central americans to cross thier territory to get there.
If you look, most countries have a much stricter immigration policy than the United States (and I'm talking about legal immigration), but most countries do allow for immigration.
How can you fault a foreign government for enforcing their immigration laws, when that is what we need more of in the United States. Mexico is no more racist for enforcing its immigration laws that are predominately violated by people from Central America than the US would be for enforcing our immigration laws which are predominately violated by Mexican Nationals.
The fact is that the people who enter and work in Mexico without the proper immigration status or work visas are criminals. Kind of sounds a lot like the many rants on here about the US enforcing its laws, doesn't it? Just goes to show you that I am against criminals everywhere!
The fact that Mexico has an immigration problem at it's southern borders and ports of entry should emphasize the security risk to the United States if we don't secure our southern border. Terrorist sneaks into Mexico from Central America and then sneaks across our vulnerable border with Mexico and the next thing you know we have some radical Islamic terrorist blowing himself up in the gallery of the Senate. Not so far fetched now, is it?
Why did you move to Mexico if you are not willing to be open minded towards the culture? In all of Latin America racism is not an issue, making fun of someone because of their ethnicity is like making fun of someone because of the color of their hair here. You cannot compare Latin America which has been truly multicultural and the peoples have mixed to Racially-altered America where racism has engraved itself in the culture. It is not the same here as it is there. I am Guatemalan and I understand Hispanic culture more than you ever will.
evidently because these indians can dispute the we were here first theory of it appears most mexicans
