Why do you think that your opinion does not matter?
I am tired of seeing this said over and over again. While it is true that those people came here illegally, but their children haven't. They shoud not be punished, which is why I strongly support the DREAM ACT. As for their parents, I agree that we should deport the ones that dont contribute to the economy, or wont learn the english language, or if they commit crimes. But if they abide the law and make every effort to gain the legal status, they can stay.
Answer:
Yes, that type of thinking definitely comes from a limited mind. They say, "If it's illegal, it must be punished." And then also use sylogism to concluse that all Mexicans are illegal immigrants.
allright finaly someone with brains , thats what I m talking about . if someone is unhappy with his /her governants let them know . don't take it against the most vulnerable . or hispanics .
they are lawbreakers no matter how you look at it and they are all criminals!!! the parents should be jailed for doing this to their children, and no baby of an illegal should be allowed citizenship, they will be listening to us now, it's election year coming up and thank god illegals can't vote, unless they have committed yet another crime-identity theft. they all commit crimes as soon as they step foot over the border. they can take their dream act back home with them. American public is going to make it their nightmare!!!
I'm just going to answer your initial question.
The reason I think my opinion doesn't matter, simply because the government is going to do what they are going to do. Regardless of what the masses of citizens say.
'..For the people, by the people' ~ what a crock of sh!t.
Whether or not they had a choice, they already had education costing $10,000 per year of education, each (give or take, depending on the state). That overcrowded our children's schools, exceeded our teaching capacity and diverted funds from our children's educations. Why should they divert funds from our children's college educations as well? It isn't as if every American child who wants to go to a decent college will be able to pay their way and we have extra funds to give to others.
I think we need to take care of our own first.
In addition, I believe that free and discounted education, rather than jobs is the biggest draw for many who come illegally, and I think we won't begin to address the problem adequately until we say 'that stops now'.
What is truly bizzare, however, is that the Dream Act is in the Flake bill. Supposedly that bill is going to stop illegal immigration, and legalize those already here. So for whom, exactly, is the Dream Act intended?
